Lignum is rapidly approaching another milestone, and with GDC next week, things are definitely getting hectic! Well I’m happy to say that it’s coming along quite nicely.
I’ve been working on a flavor text system so that players can interact with their environment to a much greater extend. With the help of some DirectX fonts and a little magic, everything in game is now somewhere intractable. Though there is still a small problem with resolution switching, it’s looking really great so far.
I also went on a bug stomping rampage. After setting a list of about 4 or 5 of the worst ones, I just knocked them out one by one. Most of them were just artifacts of rapid development, edge cases and the like. I’m happy to report the game is much more stable at this point, and runs like a charm.
Also, Lignum has a website! It’s on the projects page, but here’s the link anyways. It will be expanded upon once we get a trailer and such, but it looks really great. Compliments to our lead artist Constance Chen who also doubles as a web programmer.
Anyways, I’ll be at GDC this next week, if anyone else going wants to meet up and talk games, just contact me.
